X-Madrid, the anti-shopping centre

If you have ever walked by it, you must have surely noticed it. If you haven’t, maybe now is the time for you to visit this shopping centre that goes beyond what we expect from these establishments, and not only in the architectural sense.

X-Madrid, the anti-shopping centre, is in Alcorcón. It opened its doors last winter, but some of the activities had still not quite taken off. And although its main feature is its dynamism and commitment to value, it now seems to be fully operational.

But what is the idea behind this anti-shopping centre? Certainly, that it is nothing like a conventional shopping centre, having more in common with a large sports centre.

X-Madrid is designed to offer the public a different kind of experience. It is aimed at the adventurer we all carry within. In this large space you can climb, scuba dive or surf without having to leave Madrid.

That’s right. This large establishment contains all sorts of experiences for people without labels – according to its own website. And, if you are not sure you want to try any of them, you can always go check the place out, go to the movies or eat in one of the many available restaurants.

This leisure option is unlike any other in Madrid and it is spread over 40,000 m2 and three floors. As well as the activities areas, cinemas and restaurants, it also contains some shops like the Harley Davidson one and others related to the world of driving, as well as a handful of clothes shops.

It is a perfect plan for the whole family to enjoy games and physical activities, which are great for both body and mind.

It is easy to access by bus, underground or train. If you prefer to go by car, you can park for free throughout the day.
