La Casa de Campo te espera

Yes, it’s winter, but staying in your hotel or indoors in a coffee shop or a museum is not the way to live. Go out and go to the Casa de Campo. Breathe in fresh air, walk and recharge your batteries. It’s just a stone’s throw from the centre of Madrid, a walk from Plaza de España or accessible by metro (Lines 5 and 10 to Casa de Campo). You can also go there on the famous cable car and enjoy the fantastic views that this option offers.

You can also eat at the African restaurant Kibanda, at Bagaray or snack something from the many fast-food stalls. Tickets start at 16.90€, which we recommend you buy online for the discount.

You should also visit the lake for a nice boat ride, which you can rent at Paseo del Embarcadero, 8. It will help you forget that you are in Spain’s most populated city, despite it being an artificial lake, albeit one that looks authentic. Renting a boat for 45 minutes costs 5.80€ during the week and 7.50€ on weekends.

To eat, Casa de Campo still preserves a few places that are going out of fashion. There are bars where you can have a beer and a packet of crisps and also, for something a little different, try Casa Mingo, a restaurant dedicated to roast chickens. It won’t let you down, precisely due to its unpretentious nature.
