One of the latest restaurants to add its name to the most avant-garde restaurant offer in Madrid is Arzábal. Among its most striking peculiarities is the fact that it is part, at least physically, of the Reina Sofía art museum. With a discreet sign on the door, in order to respect the façade of the national museum, Arzábal presents itself as an ambitious proposal for dinner in the centre of Madrid.

Fusion cuisine with experience in Madrid in other places like Menéndez Pelayo offers delicacies such as coca of cod and grilled vegetables, deep-fried anemones and  bell peppers or seafood potato stew with crayfish. Prices per ration are no lower than 15 euros although the interior terrace, which will be inaugurated in mid-November and will be open all year long, is worthy of a visit and it looks like it will become a very popular winter hotspot in Madrid.

Very close to Arzábal is another restaurant worthy of a mention, somewhat expensive according to clients but advisable if you can find a discount coupon. Entre los encantos de Samarkanda, a restaurant that reminisces of a train restaurant like the legendary Train Bleu from Gare de Lyon in Paris, and the beautiful views of the tropical garden designed by the architect Rafael Moneo. It serves traditional cuisine with products such as octopus or cod or even the outstanding Cantabrian anchovy served with homemade bread.

On the busy and lively Calle Ponzano you can find one of the most fashionable and popular hotspots of today, Sala de Despiece. It has nothing to do with other traditional Galician or Castilian restaurants, such as El Fide, famous for its perfect beers, but rather Sala de Despiece offers groundbreaking decoration without distancing itself from the roots of its district., Chamberí, since it is designed as a tribute to the traditional local tapas bar although giving special protagonism to the actual product. It can get very crowded on weekends so the best thing to do is to visit it on a weekday and try its burrata, rations of meat in different presentations and vegetable specialities from Navarre.

And one last proposal: Caray. Located in the heart of the Salamanca district (Calle Hermosilla, 2), it is a distinct and elegant restaurant for a luxurious dinner for special occasions.

You can enjoy all of these special places when you stay in our three star hotel in Madrid.
